At the end of a work week packed with stress, you just want to pack up and get away from it all. Well, almost all. There is an occasional e-mail that needs your attention. If that’s the case, Chip’s Folly Family Campground is your place.

Bring your own tent, RV, or rent one of their three cabins and run away for a weekend, a week or longer in the heart of the Pinelands. Set up a cozy outdoor home at one of more more than 300 shaded camping spots that come with hook-ups, fire rings and picnic tables. And RVers will be happy to know that many of the sites are pull-throughs.

Once you have your sleeping arrangements taken care of, the hardest thing you’ll have to do is decide how to spend your days. Rent a canoe and paddle around the lake or bring your own watercraft and use the boat launch to spend the day fishing. Catch some rays or splash in the large pool. The kids can spend their time hiking the trails, playing in the game room, climbing on the playground equipment or going for a hole-in-one at the mini-golf course. Some weekends also feature special programs and themed activities for the whole crew.

Chip’s Folly has laundry facilities, free hot showers and when you absolutely, positively have to check your e-mail, some wireless hotspots at locations throughout the campground. And if you forgot to pack something, you can pick it up at the store.

BRING THE FAMILY

COME PREPARED

Remember to bring sunscreen, insect repellant, and swimming gear. If you do forget something at home, the camp store is there to help.

WHO KNEW

A peacock in the Pinelands?  You bet.  Mr. Peacock is the campsite mascot and he wanders the grounds freely, delighting visitors with his colorful feathers.

JERSEY DEVIL SIGHTINGS

Nope.  No Jersey Devil here.  He's more of a four-star hotel kind of guy.
