Hey, what are you doing Wednesday evening? If you have been toying with the idea of learning how to kayak or canoe, come to a Paddle Party. That’s when you can test-drive some of Paddle Shack Canoe and Kayak’s the equipment.
The weekly get-together is just one of the programs and services Paddle Shack has for ‘yakkers’ and aspiring canoers. The shop is way out in front in terms of stocking the newest equipment, sometimes carrying things you can’t find anywhere else. Their list of accessories is impressive with everything from fishing rigs you can attach to your kayak/canoe to anchors to guide books that tell you what you’ll see once you hit the water.
They host various organized trips and have a pretty full calendar of events and activities so that you can hook up with other ‘yakkers’ and canoeists for fun activities. And if you are just starting out, they offer lessons so that you’ll know what you are doing once you leave dry land. And falling temperatures is no excuse not to just do it. During the winter months, they hold classes in a nearby indoor pool so you can learn how to roll and right your yak any time of year.
