Calling all apple-lovers. Here is a whole festival devoted to your favorite fruit. But first, before you dive into the home-churned apple ice cream, apple cider donuts, which are made right there at the festival, apple cobbler, and other yummy treats, check out the works of the artists whose works are on display. More than 100 artists and craftspeople set up their booths and display their hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind works. And while you are touring the historic Kirby’s Mill, which by the way, was the last operating commercial mill in New Jersey, operating right up until 1969, you’ll be serenaded by the musicians and other performers who provide entertainment throughout the day.

BRING THE FAMILY

As if all the treats and sweets aren't enough, the kids will get a kick out of scouting the shallows of the millpond for minnows.  And while you're there, let the young ones explore the old mill.  They'll get a kick out of the antique barrel making shop and old-fashioned general store.

COME PREPARED

It gets crowded fast so arrive early for the easiest parking.  Oh, and if the weather looks a little iffy, pack a poncho or rain gear because the festival goes on rain or shine.

WHO KNEW

Of the 30 different apple varieties grown in New Jersey, the Winesap is the oldest, dating back to the late 1700s.

VOLUNTEER
