Alice Paul Institute
There’s so much history packed into Paulsdale’s 6 ½ acres, you’ll hardly know where to begin. The home of Alice Paul, famous suffragist and author of the Equal Rights Amendment, Paulsdale has been restored to reflect what it looked like in 1885, the year Alice was born.
 
Batsto Village
Thanks to the munitions produced by the Batsto Iron Works, the Continental Army had the arms they needed to defeat the British. After the Revolution, the Iron Works produced such household items as pots and kettles and employed hundreds of people who lived in Batsto Village. Today, the living 19th-century history museum features more than 30 historic buildings that recount the town’s dominance as a glassmaking and agricultural center.
 
Bordentown City
Situated at the northern tip of Burlington County and bordering Mercer County, it is at the crossroads of the American Revolution. This "a little city...with a lot of charm" offers visitors a pleasant diversion. The town's beautiful and historically significant architecture houses many interesting shops and restaurants, as well as a friendly and caring community.
 
Buzby's Chatsworth General Store
The big box stores serve a purpose, but there is nothing that can take the place of an old-fashioned country store. Buzby’s Chatsworth General Store combines the traditions of Pine Barrens culture, small-town charm, country cafe and modern retail to create a friendly, authentic Pinelands shopping spot.
 
Fort Mott State Park
At some parks, history takes a back seat to nature, but not here. Fort Mott State Park is an equal balance of American history and the great outdoors. Its 104 acres of wide open spaces and military battlements overlook the Delaware River. Roam through the batteries where troops were stationed from 1897 to 1922, enjoy a picnic in the shade of the pavilion or join in the Park’s educational and historical programs.
 
Harleigh Cemetery
Harleigh is an extraordinary example of a Victorian-era cemetery and the final resting place of Walt Whitman, political activist Mother Bloor, United States Senator David Blair, and many others
 
Herrontown Woods Arboretum
Go find your hiking boots or other rubber-soled waterproof shoes, get your binoculars and explore the 142-acre Herrontown Woods Arboretum. More than 30 species of trees, shrubs and wildflowers line the nature trails that wind through the woods and over a shallow creek. The trails slope gently and gradually so they aren't too difficult and when they are dry, some trail sections can accommodate wheelchairs.
 
House of Alexander Douglass (Historical Marker)
Erected in 1902 by Trenton High School's Class of 1903, the House of Alexander Douglass is the site of Washington's council of war prior to the Battle of Princeton.
 
John A. Roebling Park
When you come to John A. Roebling Park, you won’t be alone. The Park’s 257 acres are packed with wildlife. Connected to more than 8 miles of walking trails and another 11 miles of water trails, Roebling Park is a popular spot for woodpeckers, Green Herons, Great-Horned Owls, and numerous species of turtles. Head over to Watson’s Woods section and check out the Revolutionary War era home of Mr. Watson and his family.
 
Kirby's Mill
IIt is said that an army travels on its stomach. When the Continental Army was in the throes of the Revolutionary War, historic Kirby's Mill was an active mill, processing grain that helped keep the army going. For the next few hundred years right up to the 20th century, Kirby’s Mill remained a center of commerce. Today the historic grist mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
 
Princeton Battlefield State Park
It isn’t large – only 100 acres – but every inch of this wide open swath of land is sacred ground from the War for Independence. It was here that Washington and his troops concluded the “Ten Crucial Days” of battles, winning their first major battle against the British Regular army and gave hope to the patriots’ cause. Monuments, markers and the historic Clarke House help tell the tale of this fierce battle.
 
Red Bank Battlefield Park
If you like mixing history with the great outdoors, head to Red Bank Battlefield Park. Centuries ago, British and Hessian troops outnumbered the Continental Army 3-to-1. Lopsided odds aside, the Americans won, although not before taking over Whitall House, a Quaker farmhouse, for use as a hospital. Today, at the 44-acre Red Bank Battlefield, you’ll find battlefield displays, observation decks, playground and picnic facilities all overlooking the Delaware River.
 
Samuel Crowley III
As a retired sea captain, Samuel Crowley III, established the foundations for Crowleytown in Burlington County and precipitated the town's legacy of glassworks. Crowley began building the town in 1851 and by 1857 it had a glass house, 17 residences, a store and blacksmith shop, and school.
 
Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center
If you need proof that a picture is worth a thousand words, a visit to The Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center should do the trick. Thousands of photos and artifacts recall the history of Seabrook Farms and tell the dramatic stories of the Japanese, Peruvian, Appalachian, European and Caribbean refugees and immigrants who lived and worked at Seabrook Farms during World War II.
 
Apple Pie Hill
It isn’t the place to go if you are afraid of heights but if you can make it to the top of the 60 foot tower that stands atop Apple Pie Hill which is 209 feet above sea level, you can get sweeping views of the Pinelands. And on a good day, you can see all the way to the casinos of Atlantic City and the Philadelphia skyline.
 
Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial
It sits 11 stories high, weighs 45,000 tons, has 33 guns and is the most decorated battleship in the history of the American Navy. Having fought valiantly in every military conflict from World War II through Vietnam, the Battleship New Jersey now dominates the southern end of the Camden Waterfront, giving visitors a glimpse into the lives of the sailors who served on board.
 
Burlington County Historical Society Library and Museum Tours
What famous American author created the characters Hawkeye and Natty Bumpo? Who uttered the immortal words, "Don't give up the ship!" during heated battle in the War of 1812? Is it true that jin rickshaws, man-powered carriages, were produced in Burlington and exported to the Orient? Get all the answers during one of the Burlington County Historical Society's tours.  Oh, and their research library is another great place to get answers to everything you wante
 
Camden County Historical Society Museum
With not one, not two, but three historic buildings, the Camden County Historical Society complex tells the story of the people and events that shaped the region. The research library contains 20,000 books, newspapers, pamphlets, maps, deeds, diaries and genealogical material stretching back three centuries. Pomona Hall shows the elaborate lifestyle of the 18th century “haves” and the Museum has hundreds of artifacts dating back to the Lenape tribe.
 
Cape May Point State Park
Best known as the site of Cape May Lighthouse, Cape May Point State Park's changing shore line, dunes, pond and freshwater coastal marsh have made the area a favorite place to see the fall bird migration. The natural area includes several blazed trails where wildlife can be seen from observation platforms. Don't forget to check out the Cape May Lighthouse. Carranza Memorial
Dashing and daring, Captain Emilio Carranza was dubbed the “Mexican Lindbergh” for his airborne exploits. But when his plane crashed in the Pinelands during a flight between Long Island and Mexico City, a memorial was built at the site of the fatal crash in his memory. Events are held every July to commemorate his daring adventures.
